AN IMMERSION INTO MAURICE RAVEL’S BOLERO AND ITS GRAND ORCHESTRAL CRESCENDO
Under the baton of Josep Pons and with the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, spectators will have the opportunity to discover the different instruments of the orchestra in a virtual reality production, following in the footsteps of the multi-award-winning Symphony experience.
Aimed at audiences of all ages, the project has been conceived and produced by the Fundación ”la Caixa” and directed by Igor Cortadellas. It is an unprecedented approach to bringing classical music to the public—one that has never been seen or heard in this way before.
A SONIC IMMERSION
This new immersive experience places the audience in a privileged position at the heart of the symphony orchestra. As if they were part of the ensemble, spectators will hear the sound of the instruments and feel the magic that arises when they vibrate together. They will experience the orchestra’s sound from within, sensing the pulse of the rhythm, the breath of the musicians, and the emotion in the conductor’s gestures.
“An orchestra is a single entity. We listen to each other, we look at each other, and we even breathe together. We feel as one, moving in the same direction. Separately, we are something; together, we are something great.”
TECHNOLOGY AT THE SERVICE OF MUSIC
The visual concept of this virtual reality experience features real 360º footage. For the music, a state-of-the-art recording system has been employed, delivering a full 360º sound experience—a fusion of cutting-edge technology with musical and visual sensitivity.
This experience is the result of a great team effort.
